“Success occurs when opportunity meets preparation.” – Zig Ziglar

Success is something many of us aspire to. Yet, it has a different meaning for each of us. For some, success may look like wealth and a big house. For others, it might mean raising healthy, happy, well-adjusted children. Or, it could be a combination of these things and many others.

Whatever success means to you, it takes time and dedication to get there. As a health and wellness coach, one of my favorite things about working with clients is seeing them achieve their goals. No matter if they’re big or small, the outcome is the same: a feeling of accomplishment and purpose.

If you have a vision of what you want for your life, but aren’t quite sure how to attain it, keep reading. I’ve included my top 10 tips for achieving success, no matter what your goal is.

  1. Have a vision. What is it that you want? Write down the specific details and then meditate on your vision every day.
  2. Ask for help. Find someone who has been successful at accomplishing a similar goal or is already an expert in that area. Ask them to support and mentor you.
  3. Work hard. Nothing worth having comes easy. Sure, some people are just lucky. But most of us have to work hard. So practice, train, and put extra hours in.
  4. Sacrifice. Maybe you want to go to a party, stay up late, or eat pizza and ice cream. But success often means sacrifice. Put your time, energy and focus into your goal, not the things that will distract you from it.
  5. Prioritize. Do you really need to buy a new pair of shoes if your goal is to save money for a down payment on a new house? Decide what’s most important to you and always keep that at the top of your mind.
  6. Don’t give up. No matter what obstacles or challenges you face along the way to making your dreams a reality, never quit. Every time you fail or something doesn’t go your way, look at it as an opportunity to grow, get better, evolve, and move you one step closer toward your dreams.
  7. Never stop learning. It’s important to read, research, and learn from those who are already successful in your area of interest. Remember, knowledge is power.
  8. Have faith. You have to believe in yourself and that you have whatever it takes to get where you want to go. For some people, having faith also means believing their being supported or guided by a higher power. Trust in that power.
  9. Be patient. Overnight sensations don’t actually happen overnight. In fact, those people often worked hard for many years to get to the point where someone gave them their big break. Your time will come.
  10. Stay humble. Once you attain success, don’t let it go to your head. Other people who were once in your shoes will look up to you. Make time to pay forward your wisdom and knowledge to them.

Wishing you peace and love,

Casey

It’s a new year and maybe you’re thinking that it’s even time for a new you.

At the start of 2019, you may have set several big goals or made a few resolutions. Initially, you probably felt really excited about them. You might have even had a vision of what your life was going to look like once they were accomplished.

But then reality hit. A family member is having a crisis. Your kids need help with homework. Your husband is working late. You’re tired and overwhelmed. And your goals already seem like they’re too far off in the distance to ever become a reality. Whatever it is, it’s getting in the way of the vision you had of your future self and the life you were dreaming of.

Trust me…I get it!!

As a wife, entrepreneur, graduate student, and mom to three fur babies, I understand how busy life can get. Sometimes the struggle is so real that it feels as if you’re barely staying afloat.

Am I right?!

And because everyone else’s needs seem like a priority, it often results in putting off the things that are personally rewarding and fulfilling to you.

But it’s not too late to recommit to your new year’s goals or resolutions. They are still attainable.

Here are my top 3 tips for helping my clients stick to their goals:

1. Reward yourself:

Determine if you need a daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly reward. Every time you stick to your goal, reward yourself.

Example: If you are trying to lose weight, you might reward yourself with a new outfit every time you lose 10 pounds.

2. Stay motivated:

It’s important to focus on what motivates you. When I was sick and bedridden, my motivation was to heal so I could live a full and happy life. I was also motivated to help other women take better care of themselves so they could avoid what I went through.

Example: A great tool for staying motivated is to put reminders – such as inspirational photos or quotes – in places you can see multiple times a day, such as your bathroom mirror, refrigerator, and wallet.

3. Be held accountable:

Share your goal with a family member or friend who will hold you accountable. This should be someone who is able to commit to supporting you long-term. Check in with them – and ask them to check in with you – as often as you need, even if that means daily or several times a day.

Example: Trying to cut sugar? Call you accountability buddy when a big craving hits and go grab a green juice or smoothie instead.

Let me know how these work for you. I always love hearing your success stories!

Wishing you peace and love,

Casey

You might be putting pressure on yourself to charge right into 2019 and start tackling all your goals and resolutions. But I want to remind you to slow down. Take some deep breaths. Be intentional about what you’re tackling. And choose one or two goals to work on at a time.

Trust me, I’m an overachieving, Type A personality who always has a long to-do list, so I know what it’s like to want to get everything accomplished right now. But it’s important to remember: Our bodies need rest. Our minds need quiet. And our souls need peace.

These things – rest, quiet and peace – often come when we take care of ourselves. When we tune into our inner voice. And when we honor what we truly need in mind, body and soul.

So remember, you have an entire year to get it all done. Show yourself some loving-kindness. Take on only that which you can realistically manage without burning yourself out. And remind yourself that you’re doing great.

Need some extra guidance and support? Here are my top 3 tips for avoiding burnout:

  1. Listen to your body and rest when you need it. Pushing yourself to the point of mental, physical or emotional exhaustion will not accomplish anything. Instead, find 15 minutes in between tasks and chores to lie down, read a book, or quiet your mind through meditation.
  2. Set aside time for daily self-care. Even if all you can manage is 15-20 minutes a day, a hot bath, stretching, or getting fresh air can do wonders to invigorate and reenergize you.
  3. Accept that you are human. I know it can be hard to admit, but you are not Superwoman. Which means you don’t have the power or ability to do it all. Recognize when you need help and ask for it. Whether it’s from a friend, a neighbor, a relative, or your partner, allow other people to use their gifts, talents and time to make your life easier.

Wishing you peace and love,

Casey

Welcome to Health Coach Casey

Hi!! I’m Casey, a certified holistic health and wellness coach.

Thanks so much for checking out my website! During the past few years I’ve been working on my master’s degree in Health and Wellness Coaching with a concentration in Nutrition. So, I’ll be using my personal experience, plus everything I’ve learned from my education, to help YOU live a life that feels calmer, peaceful, joyful, and more satisfying.

Believe it or not, I once cringed at the phrase “self-love”. I had no concept of what it was or how to treat myself in a way that was loving and kind. But then I got sick…I mean really sick. And I truly believe one of the main reasons I bounced back from being bedridden off and on for over 4 years with more than 15 chronic health issues was because I finally began to love, honor and nurture myself.

It was the first time in my life I had ever given myself permission to put my own needs first. To practice self-care. And most of all, to engage in some serious self-love. I started this blog because I’m on a mission to help other busy women cultivate greater self-love and prioritize self-care too.

So, remember to SUBSCRIBE to my website here {insert hyperlink} to receive my free self-care guide and be the first to see new posts I’ve created to help you feel your best in mind, body and soul!

You can also find me on Facebook and Instagram @healthcoachcasey, as well as YouTube where I’ll be sharing tips, tools, resources, and so much more!

Wishing you peace and love,
